Link to the youtube video: https://youtu.be/8KG39tnpZpM I wanted to let everyone know that I changed my channel name and usernames to prospector_21st because when i initially started this youtube channel I didn’t want to use my real name. I have now decided that I will use my real name. I am Ashton, the 21st century prospector and this is another daily mining profit update. I actually didn’t get my coins sent to my ledger last night like I usually do. This is because as I was browsing reddit; I noticed that someone had posted an issue with the ledger API, and I wanted to be on the safe side. I checked this morning and nothing seems to have been posted elsewhere so I went ahead and sent them to it. Yesterday, my two miners made slightly less bitcoin cash. This is lower than the day before, and I attribute this mostly to the higher prices of bitcoin and bitcoin cash yesterday. I think the auto switching pool went on to bitcoin two days ago and it is still there as of right now; so I am hoping to see an increase in the number of coins that I mine today and as the pool stays on bitcoin. Here are the final numbers for today. 24 Hour HashRate = 17.18 TH/s BCH Mined = .0136 USD Mined if Coins Sold Today = $22.09 As you can see my hash rate has gone up a little bit, but for the most part has stayed the same. I can see that my Ebit E9 is around 8.9 in the 3 hour average. Which is a little low, but this isn’t a precise process; and it is made up by the Avalon 741 at around 8.2 TH/s for the 3 hour average. Before I go today, I just wanted to tell you guys about a couple cool upcoming projects that I am working on. I will be doing reviews of 3 ASIC SHA256 bitcoin miners. Those are the Avalon 741, Ebit E9, and Whatsminer M3. Also, I am putting together an entire crypto mining series; starting with how transactions happen and are entered on the blockchain, and then through everything including mining pools and payout methods; so look for that as well. Happy prospecting! My new Reddit Username will be @prospector_21st look there for continued updates as I will be discontinuing this account.

January 23, 2018 Just wanted to do an update to my bitcoin cash mining revenues. 24 Hour Hashrate = 17.12 TH/s BCH Earned = .0147 BCH USD Earned If Exchanged Today: $23.50 This is another rough day in the world of bitcoin mining. I am still at a net profit, but to see mining revenues this low is hard. I am going to keep HODLing my coins and waiting for this bear market to turn around. I saw some awesome things about the South Korean markets last night and I am hoping to see the prices of the coins higher by the end of this week. Link to my youtube video covering today: https://youtu.be/MPQJHTWyk1A My team and I are currently working on a GPU mining rig. Look for a video with that coming soon! I am also putting together a review of both of my miners the Avalon 741, and Ebit E9 If you have any feedback on my videos, please send me an email [email protected]
Let me tell you, this last week has been rough as a HODL’er of cryptocurrencies. There were some days when I wanted to give up and sell my miners and move on from the space entirely. However that is not why I got into mining, and not why I continue to mine bitcoin cash to this day. I hope to see bitcoin mining profitability of bitcoin cash mining continue to increase as we recover more from this crash. Today was one of the best days that I have had in a while. When I woke up this morning, I saw that bitcoin cash had broken above the rest of the coins. Which is awesome for guys like me who hold cryptocurrency. My bitcoin cash deposit today: 0.0126 BCH USD if Cashed out Today: ~$16.00 24 Hour TerraHashes: 16.94 My terra-hashes are a little low as I had to move my Avalon 741 This morning, but other than that the profit that I am making mining bitcoin cash is up. It might be short-lived, but it is a good thing today. As you can see in the chart below, my bitcoin cash has been going up every day this week. I’m starting to realize that the profit that I will make from bitcoin cash mining will come from holding these coins as long as I can. What’s been happening? I want to say the most positive thing that I have seen this week is the senate hearing on bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies that happened earlier this week. I watched the hearing and overall I thought it was great. The senators were very respectful of the technology and the people in it. Overall, they are going to leave the market untouched and I even heard in a separate interview that the head of the CFTC hoped that cryptocurrencies would regulate themselves. Have you checked out bitmain’s website lately? It seems as though they are hurting for cash; this down turn in the market has been very hard for everyone and I can imagine that their sales have dropped. Bitmain is now selling what is essentially the S7, with a fancy new name for $350. I could see this being a benefit if you were someone who has free power or a situation where power is very cheap. I look forward to bringing another mining update next week and hopefully it will continue to bear good news. Thank you for reading, happy prospecting! Youtube Video: https://youtu.be/tZxxU9EBkww Blog Post: http://www.21stcenturyprospector.com/index.php/2018/02/08/bitcoin-mining-profitability/ Let me know what you guys think and if I should keep posting these updates!
Thinking about purchasing a Avalon 741 but I've read over and over that mining is no longer worth it on a small scale. According to the mining calculators online, at 09/kW I'd be profitable in 9-10 months and make roughly $120 in profit every month after that. Is there something I'm missing here?
